Community Outreach

We are fortunate to serve the people of our community doing what we love to do most. We feel we've been called to not only "Live happy. Smile often." ourselves, but to help others do so as well. Therefore, we actively pursue community outreach activities to help spread smiles all over Northwest Ohio.

Henry County Christmas Cheer Give-a-Thon

There's no better time to smile than Christmas, and this Christmas Dental Excellence of Napoleon encouraged its patients and community to give smiles to others through the Henry County Christmas Cheer program. The Christmas Cheer program provides gifts for hundreds of families in Henry County. Dr. Carpenter challenged those with a giving heart to help fill his barrel and in turn, he matched their donations! Donors entered their names to win free deep bleaching whitening trays and enjoyed Christmas cookies and pictures with Santa on the final collection day.

Thank you for giving!

Veterans Day

This Veterans Day, Dental Excellence of Napoleon extended its gratitude to local veterans by providing free dental care! On Friday, November 11th, Dr. Carpenter and his team provided local veterans with their choice of a free cleaning, filling or extraction. After their appointment, veterans were offered refreshments, pins to acknowledge their service and a good, old fashioned American flag:)

Operation Gratitude Halloween Candy Buyback

This year, we collected over 200 pounds of candy for troops at our second annual Halloween Candy Buyback event! Area children brought their Halloween candy to our office where they traded it in for dollar bills and flashing toothbrushes. Many of the kids dressed in their costume and made cards to send in care packages to service men and women overseas. The children enjoyed a fun night of potion-making, spider hunting, face painting and more. Area schools competed to see which school's student could bring in the most candy, with Liberty Center claiming the $250 reward with 23 pounds of candy. Our individual winner brought in 13 pounds of candy. Now that's some serious trick-or-treating!

Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that brings smiles to soldiers faces by sending individual care packages to soldiers in harm's way. Visit operationgratitude.com to learn more.

Dentistry From the Heart

Dental Excellence of Napoleon was the proud sponsor of Napoleon's first annual Dentistry From The Heart event, providing a free day of dental care on April 1st to nearly 100 Northwest Ohio residents.

Registration started at 6 a.m. that morning, with a line started by 5 a.m. for those in need of free services. Dr. Carpenter and our team of dentists, volunteers and sponsors provided patients with 42 extractions, 24 fillings and 35 cleanings - all for free!

Dentistry From The Heart started in 2001 as a way to give back to the community and provide aid to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance. Since its inception, Dentistry From The Heart has grown to include over 300 annual events nationwide and has provided more than 45,000 people with free dental care.

"It all comes down to wanting to provide something greater for my community," said Dr. Carpenter. "The services provided by Dentistry From The Heart helps more than just our patient's teeth, it gives them a renewed reason to smile."

Give Kids A Smile

This year's Give Kids a Smile Day was a huge success. Approximately 60 children received free dental care at Henry County's NWO Dental Clinic! As the local dental society Chairman, Dr. Carpenter would like to recognize the Dental Clinic staff and all of the area dentists and staff who volunteered their time. What a wonderful event!

The Give Kids a Smile program also involves educating children on proper oral hygiene. Our team appreciated the opportunity to share the importance of good dental care with children at Napoleon, Liberty Center, Holgate and Deshler schools! Our hygienists loved visiting with the kids and our whole staff had fun choosing the coloring contest winners.
